Dr. Michael Herrington - Veterinarian

Dr. Michael Herrington was born in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in Sarasota with two older brothers.

"Dr. Mike" competed in swimming for the Sarasota YMCA Sharks and graduated in 1998 from Pine View School. He attended Florida State University and graduated with honors in 2002.

Returning to Sarasota, he worked at several local vet clinics before matriculating to veterinary school at The Ohio State University in 2007. In addition to his studies, he also served on the Small Animal Emergency Surgery Team, Cow Milking Team, volunteered at the Ohio Wildlife Center and was a member of the Student Chapters of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Zoo Veterinarians, Veterinary Business Management Association, and American Association of Feline Practitioners.

After graduating from vet school, Dr. Mike spent 6 years at a Nokomis vet practice, treating dogs, cats, birds, exotics, and wildlife, and also making housecalls. Prior to joining the EAHC team in December 2017, he served as a shelter vet in Manatee County.
