What are the services available at your animal health center?

We offer many services including digital radiography, surgery, dental cleanings, ultrasound, boarding, grooming, and microchipping. Our newest service is dental radiography. We also offer pet supplies including nutritional items and pet insurance through Trupanion.

What are your responsibilities as the Hospital Manager?

I manage our team and our building. I also make sure that both the team and I have ongoing education to help us remain current with technology and other advances in our industry.

You are also a Certified Veterinary Technician. Where did you complete your training?

I completed the program at St. Petersburg College and completed the national exam to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. I also completed my Bachelors in Veterinary Technology degree with a focus on clinical and practice management. My next goal is to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager.

You are new to Englewood; where did you move here from?

I was born and raised in Sarasota where my family has lived since the 1940s. I live in North Port with my husband, children, and pets.

What are your initial impressions of the Englewood area?

I appreciate the community and its friendly people and hometown values.

Tell our readers a little about your human and pet family at home?

My husband of almost 10 years and I have two sons ages 11 and 2 and a daughter aged 8. We also have a chocolate lab, a border collie/spaniel mix, three cats, a leopard gecko, and a few birds. Our home is very lively and rarely quiet.

What are some of the plants that can be toxic to pets?

The main ones that our patients encounter in this area are all types of lilies, poinsettias, and the entire sago palm, and especially the palm nuts. The pet poison hotline website has more details. Readers can call our center at 941-474-8881 if they have any concerns.

What do you love most about your work?

I love helping pets live a long and happy life as a member of its dedicated human family.

What are some of your other interests?

I enjoy living the Florida lifestyle and spending time with my family. I love fishing, going to the beach, camping, diving, traveling, and finding new local places to visit. I also dabble in astronomy and photography.
